The field proven Tactical Power® UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, ruggedconstruction, compact size and light weight design. These units are equallysuited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed or fixedlocations with controlled or uncontrolled environments. The
ETI0001-2205E1 is being used as a power source in global defense applications because of the stringent performanceand reliability requirements.

The heavy-duty UPS and Battery chasses have rounded metal corners and rugged handles frontand rear, aiding in safe handling. Internally, all major components are wellsecured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock andvibration.  The internal intelligent thermal sensors provide monitoring of unit temperatures, with both local and remote Battleshort override capability of thermal shutdown for emergency scenarios. Battleshort can be engaged via a remote contact input or via a software command. When in Battleshort, an audible alarm is sounded and an indicator is lit. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments and includes an audible enable/disable switch.

The internal shieldedinput transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for nominal 100, 115, 120, 208, 220, 230 and 240 VAC inputvoltages, 50 or 60 Hz. Special EMI/RFI filters, input power factor correction and inrush current limiting minimize both input current and harmonics.

The built-in Elapsed Time Indicator logs the hours of operation of the UPS as well as that of the equipment powered by the UPS. This can be used to plan preventative maintenance the entire system. The LED arrays keep the operatorinformed as to the unit's status including load and battery levels. Thehigh intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments. Allcontrols and protective devices are brought to the front and rear panels with criticalswitches having finger guards. The front panel also provides easy access to both the AC Input and Battery Input fuses. Coupled with the onboard spare fuses, MTTR is reduced to less than 15 minutes.

Further, all front panel devices are recessed toprevent damage or accidental operation. Theinput circuit breaker and the galvanic isolation transformersall provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems oroverseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent. The Maintenance Bypass Switch can be used to remove the UPS electronics module from service while still providing power to the connected loads.

The rear panel provides locking connectors for the inputand output power. Removable, washable air filters combined with high capacitystainless steel ball bearing fans provide added protection in both controlled and hostileenvironments. The exhaust air is diverted out the rear vents, withalternate air flow directions optional.

The
ETI0001-2205E1 has the added benefit of having a field replaceable battery via front drawout battery module. The external battery connector allows the safe and easy addition ofthe standard or extra battery modules without having to shut the unit down. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and areconstructed of flame retardant materials. For more information, see the BatteryTechnology section. TheStatus connector provides an interface with optional computer softwareproviding loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut downcapability.

See
ETI0001-2205E2
for a shorter height version (5U total versus 6U saving rack space) of this unit that is totally backward compatible. See the Power Distribution Units section for alisting of stand alone PDUs. See the N5 Series section forversions of UPS with an integrated PDU and remote control.

Overall, the Military Power line is uniquely qualified for criticalshipboard, vehicle, airborne or land based systems combining advanced modular designfeatures with highly reliable construction.
